Finalist | Emerging Artist Award 2017

The award presents a selection of artworks that exemplify innovation and originality in a range of media will be chosen for a two-week exhibition from 13-24 June 2017 at fortyfivedownstairs. $3000 of prize money will be awarded by a special guest judge to the two submissions that best align with the award criteria.

With a growing community of Emerging Artist Award alumni experiencing industry success, the Award is a proven catalyst for ongoing recognition and professional development and allows audiences the privilege of accessing early-career works by exciting young artists.

Fortyfivedownstairs  showcases independent, experimental and thought-provoking visual art. The Emerging Artist Award 2017 is an opportunity to examine developing trends in the contemporary art scene whilst allowing emerging artists to gain exposure in a professional setting and kick-start their careers.
